PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - One Virgie woman was taken to jail after she told first responders she had been drinking and left her two-year-old child unattended at her home.

Kentucky State Police troopers arrested Nichole Schultz, 33, on Sunday.

The incident started when troopers were called to a collision in the vicinity of the 9000 block of KY-122 in the Little Robinson Creek area.

After she reportedly wrecked her SUV into a ditch, Schultz told members with a fire department that she had been drinking and no one was at her home to watch her toddler at 85 Curt Tackett Road.

Troopers said that Schultz then left the scene of the crash while learning that the woman’s husband had arrived along with their 15-year-old daughter.
