Attorney Ven Johnson is representing 10 families and a young woman suing Huron Valley Schools for failing to stop serial sexual abuse from substitute teacher Timothy Daugherty.

Daugherty was convicted and sentenced for six counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in the summer of 2025.

Nearly a dozen families filed a lawsuit against Huron Valley Schools, administrators and an educational staffing firm on Monday, Sept. 22, claiming staff failed to stop a substitute teacher's serial sexual abuse of elementary-school aged girls.
