CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have identified the man shot and killed in Uptown Charlotte over the weekend.
Detectives say 26-year-old Steven Wheeler was killed on N. Caldwell Street in Uptown Charlotte.
Officers working off-duty say they heard shots fired at 12:42am on September 21st. After investigating, officers reportedly found Wheeler suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release.
CMPD says Wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene.
