STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It may be a relatively mild fall this year.
Temperatures are forecast to generally trend above-normal across the entirety of New York from October through December, according to the latest seasonal temperature outlook by the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center .
The outlook, issued on Sept. 18, claims that the majority of the state - from the Mohawk valley on west and north - has a 40-50% chance of temperatures leaning above average this fall. Meanwhile, the easternmost ends of the state, including New York City, Long Island and the Capital District are forecast with a 50-60% likelihood of temperatures exceeding their average from October through December.
