WASHINGTON — Toys "R" Us is expanding its brick-and-mortar comeback by doubling the number of stores it currently has in the U.S.
The company recently announced with its partner Go! Retail Group plans to open 10 new flagship stores and 20 seasonal holiday shops by the end of the year.
Toys "R" Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017, with the company eventually being liquidated and sold to WHP Global in 2021. Since then, the new parent company has been aggressively rolling out new initiatives for the toy brand, including reopening stores in the U.S.
The brand already operates global flagships at American Dream in New Jersey and Mall of America in Minnesota, as well as flagship locations in Chicago and Texas, plus a dedicated store at Dallas Fort Worth Airport.
