BEAUMONT, Texas — Two Beaumont men accused in a May 5 apartment complex shootout that involved multiple gunmen and left two people wounded were denied bond reductions during court hearings Monday. The judge, in his decision, cited public safety concerns and the defendants' criminal histories.
Montreal Lightfoot, 18, and Kevontay Willis, 22, both of Beaumont, appeared before Judge Stevens seeking reductions to their $150,000 bonds. Both men have been held in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility for more than four months following their arrests in connection with the shooting in the 4600 block of Maddox Street.
