KEWAUNEE, Wis. (WBAY) - A fake ID and suspected stolen credit cards were used to steal thousands of dollars’ worth of tires from auto service centers and mechanics from Green Bay to the Lakeshore to the Fox Valley, a criminal complaint alleges.
We reported last week that Cesar Mendoza Mora, 27, was charged in Kewaunee County with receiving stolen property valued between $5,000 and $10,000 and that the investigation uncovered “a much larger scale operation .”
According to the complaint, the thefts took place in May and June.
Service centers would receive a call from a man described as having a Latin accent, identifying himself as Michael Donovan. He ordered tires and insisted on paying for them over the phone.
The next day, an Hispanic man would come to pick up the order and leave.
