On Friday, Rogers announced its former chief executive Nadir Mohamed had passed away.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Nadir. Nadir was an exceptional leader, a deeply respected executive and a generous person who led Rogers during an extraordinary time of change for our company and industry. He contributed immensely to our long-term success and made meaningful contributions to our community and our country,” said Executive Chair Edward Rogers in a statement.

Mohamed joined Rogers in August 2000. He led Rogers Wireless as president and CEO from 2001 to 2005, became president and chief operating officer in 2005, and in 2009 succeeded Ted Rogers as president and CEO.
