MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) -The Colorado State Patrol's weekend surge enforcement resulted in 11 driving under the influence arrests, including one involving a DUI crash over the weekend in Mesa County.
CSP stated the surge enforcement happened Saturday and Sunday throughout the county's major traffic arteries, feeder roads and around the Palisade Wine Fest.
State patrol contacted 120 drivers, with 62 of them being either cited or charged. Fifteen of the citations were seatbelt-related, while another 14 regarded speeding. Seven people were arrested for an unspecified charge. The driver who allegedly caused the DUI crash was arrested.
