ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is endorsing COVID-19 vaccine recommendations from professional medical associations for the 2025-26 vaccine.

Dr. Brooke Cunningham, Minnesota Health Commissioner, emphasized the importance of following scientific evidence. "COVID-19 vaccines prevent severe illness and death for people of all ages," Cunningham said. "We want to ensure access to vaccination."

MDH supports guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Family Physicians, and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. They recommend COVID-19 vaccination for everyone over 6 months old, with strong emphasis on vaccinating high-risk groups including children under 2 years, pregnant women, and adults over 65.
