The Kroger Co. is asking the Royal Oak Planning Commission to postpone its review of a proposed new store on 14 Mile Road near Coolidge Highway until November.

The grocery company first came before the commission in July. The commission tabled the matter after several members said the company’s proposal was not well developed.

Mayor Michael Fournier, a commission member, said the plan was “underwhelming” and advised company officials to “sharpen your pencils and come up with something else.”

The commission was to consider the matter at its August meeting, but Kroger asked for a postponement until the next month.

At the Sept. 9 meeting, Kroger asked for a postponement until the Nov. 11 meeting.
