COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Bruce Pearl, the winningest coach in Auburn men’s basketball history, is stepping down after 11 seasons as head coach. He will transition into a new role as special assistant to the athletic director.
Pearl, who compiled 232 wins with the Tigers, led Auburn to two Final Four appearances (2019 and 2025), five Southeastern Conference championships and six NCAA Tournament berths.
“Being the head coach at Auburn has been the privilege of my life,” Pearl said in a statement. “With the Auburn Family’s unwavering support, we built a program with the core tenants of faith, family and passion. I love you, and I hope you understand that for me, it is time.”
The 64-year-old ranks 11th among active Division I head coaches with 694 career wins. Under Pearl, Auburn reached No.
