LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -

For the third straight week, the “Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week” award is coming to Lubbock.

Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez follows defensive lineman Skyler Gill-Howard and cornerback Brice Pollock as Red Raiders to gain the distinction. All three snagged an interception in their respective games before they were given the honor two days after.

In the final minutes of Saturday’s game, Rodriguez made highlights with a one-handed grab in Utah territory, which set up a 21-yard touchdown pass from Will Hammond (Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week) two plays later- the Red Raiders’ final score in a 34-10 win.
