LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - After an impressive second half, which included two fourth-quarter touchdown passes in a 34-10 win at Utah, Texas Tech quarterback Will Hammond has been named the “Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week”.

Even though Hammond had become a second-half staple in the team’s three non-conference wins at home, his time on the field in Saturday’s was played under much difference circumstances. While starting quarterback Behren Morton left the game early in the second half Saturday to be medically evaluated, the redshirt freshman took over and guided the Red Raiders to victory.
