MADISON (WKOW) — A group of teens was taken into custody after stealing a vehicle early Monday morning.
Madison police responded to a report of teenagers removing license plates from a vehicle on the 2300 block of Columbus Lane around 12:39 a.m.
Officers arriving at the scene found the group, who left in a vehicle but were later captured with the help of a K-9 and drone, according to the incident report .
One teenager had a backpack containing burglary tools, police reported. The vehicle was found to be stolen from a nearby jurisdiction.
All involved were taken to the Juvenile Reception Center.
