RANSON — The Ranson Institute of Secondary Education (RISE) grand opening ceremony and open house took place Friday, Sept. 19, giving the public the chance to tour the building and learn more about the Jefferson County School programs. The new RISE facility repurposes the old Ranson Elementary School building, becoming the new home to several CTE programs, Jefferson County Adult Education Program, the Martin Robinson Delany Opportunity Learning Center (OLC) and more.
Ian Hillman, director of responsive education for Jefferson County Schools, explained that this journey started last fall when Ranson Elementary prepared to move to their new building. Jefferson County Schools knew they wanted to continue to use the building and realized it would be the perfect location for several programs.
