SULLIVAN COUNTY, Indiana — Indiana State Police detectives are investigating a possible murder-suicide early Monday morning in southwestern Indiana.
Sullivan County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a home near Shelburn, Indiana, shortly after 4 a.m. Sept. 22.
When deputies arrived, they tried to make contact with anyone in the home where the shooting was reported, but nobody answered.
Deputies and Indiana State Police Putnamville Post troopers went in the home after not getting a response and found a man and a woman who were both dead.
According to Indiana State Police, the man shot himself.
Detectives identified the deceased as 81-year-old Keith Sheffler and 75-year-old Judy Sheffler, both from Shelburn.
