The Thunder Basin football team went into Casper on Friday desperately needing a win as they looked to avoid starting 0-4 for the second straight year.
Playing Kelly Walsh, who came into the game with a 1-2 record, the Bolts made a statement on both offense and defense, winning 50-17.
On the Bolts’ first play from scrimmage, quarterback Hadley Hudson connected with wide receiver Garett Breuer for a 16-yard completion. Breuer had missed the Bolts’ last two games after his week 1 breakout game against Natrona County.
The fast start continued for TBHS as Zander Kumm , on the very next play, rushed for 13 yards and another first down.
The Bolts would score on a screen pass to Jacob Wipf from 13 yards out. Diego Baeza would miss the extra point, making it 6-0.
