SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Plans are in the works for the San Diego International Airport to be the newest home to an Alaska Airlines lounge with construction slated to start in early 2027.

The new lounge is expected to be about 13,000 square feet and will be one of the largest lounge spaces at San Diego International Airport when complete.

The lounge, serving guests traveling on Alaska and Hawaiian airlines, will have private work areas, locally inspired food and beverages, a full bar and a barista station for handcrafted espresso drinks.
