KINGSTON — The planned enclosure of the Culligan Water Park at the Memorial Centre received $1 million from the provincial government.

The funding is part of the provnce’s three-year, $200-million Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund, which provides money to repair or renovate existing sports facilities or build new ones.

“When it comes to getting people active, young people involved in sport and recreation, it serves them well throughout their life when they stay engaged,” Hamilton East-Stoney Creek MPP Neil Lumsden, Ontario’s minster of sport, said during a press conference in Orangeville Friday.
