(WTAJ) -- Western United Fish Company announced that a brand of tuna wasabi poke was recalled due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke was recalled because the green onions used in the product have the potential to be contaminated. Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. The organism can cause symptoms such as a high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea and abdominal pain, as well as serious pregnancy complications.

The product is packaged in clear plastic clamshell containers and has the Kirkland Signature brand label with the pack date of Sept. 18, 2025, and the sell-by date of Sept. 22, 2025.
