Coco Gauff is set to play her first tournament since the US Open when she heads to Beijing for the China Open this week.

Her run in New York ended in the round of 16, when she was beaten by Naomi Osaka.

Ahead of the Grand Slam, Gauff had already experienced significant changes, including her split with coach Brad Gilbert just before the event began.

She brought in biomechanics coach Gavin MacMillan, a move that raised some eyebrows, including those of John Isner. MacMillan had previously helped Aryna Sabalenka work on her serve.

Gauff’s decision to bring him on board came at a time when she was clearly struggling with her own serve, especially double faults.
