A fresh twist in plans for a south Orange solar farm have emerged.

During the September 16 Orange City Council meeting, councillors resolved to make a submission to the Western Region Planning Panel in regards to a development application for 140 Cadia Road.

Following a lengthy debate, it was determined that council would acknowledge that the application for a 13 hectare solar farm "meets the criteria while also outlining council's concerns."

Three councillors - Kevin Duffy, Graeme Judge and Tammy Greenhalgh - voted against this as they wanted council to write in total opposition to the project, of which the WRPP will make the final decision following a September 30 meeting.
