BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A RARE 1820s wood-frame house at 24 Middagh St., one of Brooklyn Heights’ oldest homes, has hit the market after a controversial renovation, reports Brownstoner . While its exterior was carefully restored to Landmarks Preservation Commission standards, preservationists lament that the historic interior – once nearly intact – was gutted and reconfigured.

Aside from a few mantels, little remains of the house’s original interiors.
