Five teams and five athletes who made an impact on the local preps scene this past week:

Thompson Valley boys cross country: The Eagles finished third in the 4A/5A team standings at the St. Vrain Invite cross country meet Saturday in Lyons.

The Eagles scored 94 points, 24 behind second-place Erie. Trent Gabrielson led Thompson Valley with a third-place finish individually. Jacob Crisman was 10th.

Resurrection Christian volleyball: The Cougars won a pair of matches last week to improve to 5-0 on the season.

RCS swept Forge Christian 25-15, 25-20, 25-12 on Tuesday and Frontier Academy 25-7, 25-10, 25-14 on Thursday.

Berthoud boys soccer: The Spartans only had one game last week, but they defeated Valley 7-0 on Thursday to run their winning strea
