SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR) -- It has only been approximately two weeks since Syracuse's school zone traffic enforcement program began, and city officials have said there are noticeable improvements from drivers on the road.

School bus stop arms, red light cameras, and speed cameras are all a part of the program that is in full swing.

"Our focus here is on getting people to be more aware behind the wheel, paying attention, and slowing down…particularly in school zones," Conor Muldoon, Syracuse's Chief Operating Officer, said.

So far, the city is happy with the changes being made.

"Anecdotally, we have heard that people are changing their behavior," he said. "They're more aware of school speed zones, of red lights, and they're slowing down. That's one of the most important things that we can
