CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Parts of West Virginia are starting to see the precipitation it’s so desperately needed for several weeks.

According to Joe Curtis, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Charleston, the rain came down in a few counties over the weekend.

“There were some very hit or miss showers across West Virginia Sunday,” Curtis said Monday on MetroNews Midday. “Where we saw some of those showers was in the south, so Wyoming County, McDowell County, Raleigh County. Some of those areas got up to an inch of rain or so, which was definitely much needed. Also, far to the west, so parts of Cabell and Mason County also saw some rain yesterday as well.”
