Following storms that moved through the area late last week and over the weekend, the Dickson Fire Department announced Monday, Sept. 22, it has lifted its ban on outdoor burning.
“Most of the city received enough precipitation over the last few days that we feel comfortable in canceling the burn ban and resuming issuing burn permits,” said Dickson Fire Department Chief Richard Greer. “We still require anybody who plans on doing any outdoor burning in the city to obtain a burn permit in advance so we can continue to monitor conditions and track where burning is taking place.”

Dry conditions prompted the burn ban on Sept. 3. It was the second burn ban issued by the Dickson Fire Department this year, following
