GROVEPORT, Ohio — Two men are dead following a crash in Groveport on Monday afternoon, according to Madison Township Fire Chief Derek Robinson.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called on a report of a crash near the 5800 block of Green Pointe Drive, located off Groveport Road, shortly after 3:30 p.m.

According to Robinson, a vehicle hit the back of a semitrailer at a high rate of speed. Two men in the vehicle were pronounced dead at 3:41 p.m.

It's unclear if the driver of the semi was injured.

Green Pointe Drive is currently closed in the area of the crash. It's unclear when the road will reopen.
