SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - Police continue to search for suspects in the killing of a Spartanburg teenager who was shot to death in his home over the weekend.

Spartanburg advocacy groups fighting against violence are calling this another senseless tragedy, one that's hitting a community already mourning from similar shootings.

“I felt like the life had been taken out of me personally because I knew this family," said Angelia Edwards, member of the Spartanburg Stop the Violence Coalition.

Spartanburg police said just before 1 a.m. Saturday, 17-year-old Zion Jordan was sitting at home on Amherst Drive when multiple rounds were fired into the residence from the front yard.

Investigators said the bullets shattered a bay window and struck Jordan at least twice.
