TEXARKANA, Texas - A Texarkana woman is climbing mountains to raise money for newborns in need.

Over the last several years, Holland Gerald has been climbing mountains around the world and raising thousands of dollars for CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Over the last 11 years, she's raised about $20,500.

“So, the most challenging part is obviously being in shape. But to be in shape you have to get to the point where you can perform at high altitude, you lose, I think, 6% of your oxygen,” said Gerald.

While Gerald doesn't have a personal connection to the NICU, her love for babies, passion for mountains and remarkable drive to give back has propelled her on a journey through some of world's highest peaks.
