WATERTOWN TWP. — A woman killed in a crash involving several semi trucks last week on Interstate 96 has been identified as Sara Barnes, 48, of Portland.
Barnes died in a chain-reaction crash involving at least three semis along I-96, near Grand River Avenue in southern Clinton County, on Sept. 17.
Traffic in the eastbound lanes was stopped when a semi driven by a 34-year-old Texas man rear-ended a vehicle she was driving, “starting a chain reaction type crash with two more semi tractor trailers also being struck,” the Clinton County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
