OTSEGO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say they know who set fire to a playground in Otsego earlier this month.

The suspect, a 37-year-old from Otsego whose name has not been released, faces charges of third-degree arson and contributing to the delinquency of a minor as a fourth-time habitual offender, the Otsego Police Department said Monday.

The suspect was already jailed in Allegan County on separate charges, police said, and was expected to be arraigned in the arson case in the coming days.

The fire sparked shortly after midnight Sept. 2 at the Northside Park. Part of a large wooden play structure went up in flames, with an about 20-foot by 40-foot section destroyed.

Firefighters quickly doused the fire and no one was harmed. • A photo of the playground at North Side Park on fire on Sept.
