BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WOOD) — A teenage boy is dead and a 20-year-old man is facing charges after a shooting in Benton Harbor last week, police say.

The shooting happened Wednesday, Sept. 17 on Buss Avenue near Fair Avenue, according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.

Police said when they arrived on scene, they found the boy, 15, "wounded by gunfire."

The 15-year-old was taken to one hospital, then transferred to another hospital. On Saturday morning, he died of his injuries, police said. Because of his age, the boy's name was not released.

According to BDHPS, officers found two juveniles at a nearby party store on Fair Avenue, and they also detained a person of interest — a 20-year-old man — during their investigation. The 20-year-old was jailed for carrying a conceale
