LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Crews in Lexington are responding to a “serious” crash.

According to Lexwrecks, the crash is at Leestown Road at Bradley Lane.

The Lexington Police Department says that the crash between a garbage truck and a passenger car at Leestown Road and Bradley Lane happened just after 3:30 Monday.

Lexington police say the driver and passenger of the car were taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. There were no injuries reported for the driver or passengers of the garbage truck.

A collision reconstruction unit is investigating the crash.

Police say that Leestown Road will be shut down for an extended period of time.
