CLINTON – A 36-year-old man has been charged after allegedly using an illegal drug in the parking lot of the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton.

Police said officers saw the man outside the detachment around 11 a.m. on Sept. 2 and discovered he was allegedly using an illegal drug after speaking with him, leading to his arrest.

Following the arrest, police said they found suspected methamphetamine in the man’s possession with an estimated value of about $10,500.

The man has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for trafficking purposes and failure to comply with a probation order. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled in Goderich on Oct. 6.
