HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- An Evansville child was honored as the Honorary Fever Ball Kid during a Indiana Fever home game.

Jasper Maurer had the opportunity to experience courtside access during warm-ups, meet Indiana Fever player Lexie Hull, and be recognized at halftime on the video board.

Jasper was diagnosed with a rare developmental disorder that affects the adrenal glands at 7 months old. His health declined quickly, leading to multiple hospital stays and several surgeries, including hernia repair and the removal of his tonsils and adenoids to address complications caused by underdeveloped palate muscles.

According to officials, the Honorary Fever Ball Kid program is indented to shine a spotlight on the bravery and determination of patients at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital
