MINNEAPOLIS — An Iowa woman was found guilty of murder after a Minneapolis DJ was found dead inside a vehicle she had crashed in southern Minnesota last summer.

A jury found Margot Lewis, of North Liberty, Iowa, guilty of second-degree murder after they determined she had stabbed Liara Tsai to death in her bed in June 2024. Tsai was a 35-year-old transgender music producer and DJ who moved to Minneapolis from Iowa City.

According to KARE 11's Lou Raguse, the jury found factors for an aggravated sentence. Lewis's next hearing is set for Nov. 11.

According to the criminal complaint, Lewis had flown from Boston to Minneapolis to visit Tsai on June 21. Surveillance camera footage captured Tsai picking up Lewis at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport that day. An autopsy revealed
