MILLTOWN, Wis. — In most neighborhoods, the melodic sound of an ice cream truck lures kids out their front doors.
But on Bone Lake, kids run toward the back.
“We heard the music,” says a teen drawn to the dock, “and we're like, is that an ice cream boat?”
More than 500 cabins surround the lake. At one point or another each summer weekend, each is serenaded by “Turkey in the Straw” wafting up the shoreline from Dylan Derheim’s pontoon.
“This is a lot of people are liking ice cream today,” Dylan says, smiling, as dock after dock fills with kids, followed by parents and grandparents with open wallets.
This is the second year that Dylan has run the treat boat he calls “Dylan’s Desserts.” He purchased the vessel from his brother, Tyler, who left for college after three years of running
