GODERICH – A 29-year-old male faces charges after an alleged assault at a retail store on Huron Road in Goderich.
Huron OPP said they were contacted Friday, Sept. 5, just before 10 a.m., about an individual who allegedly stole items from a store and assaulted a staff member, who was not injured.

Police subsequently located and arrested the individual nearby. According to Huron OPP, officers located stolen merchandise on the accused.
The accused, of no fixed address, is charged with assault, theft with a value less than $5,000 and failure to comply with probation. He was remanded into custody with an upcoming court appearance scheduled in Goderich.
