FARGO — The North Dakota Highway Patrol is reminding drivers that vehicles must have both a front and back license plate.

Deputies will stop any standard car with a North Dakota plate that does not display both.

Highway Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind said the requirement is important for officers in situations such as human trafficking cases, Amber Alerts and robberies. It makes it easier to locate a suspect’s vehicle.

Niewind also reminded drivers that registration tabs should be visible.
