PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — Northbound state street is closed in Provo due to heavy rainfall and flooding, from the Buckley Draw burn scar.

According to Utah Department of Transportation, northbound state street in Provo has been closed near Slate Canyon drive. Over the past 24 hours, the heavy rainfall has caused water to flow through the Buckley Draw burn scar area.

Both Slate Canyon Drive and Nevada Avenue are also closed. These areas previously experienced heavy debris flow that damaged a church building.

Fortunately, UDOT says that all of the homes in the area are safe and protected due to preventive safety measures.
