CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The mother of a Charlotte murder victim wants the city to take enforcement action against a Charlotte nightclub after a man was killed in a parking lot outside the business early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the parking lot outside the Brooklyn Lounge on N. Caldwell Street, where they identified the victim as 26-year-old Steven Wheeler.

It’s the same area where two men were killed in a shooting on July 5, according to police.

In that shooting, Nekisha Cosey lost her 27-year-old son, Gabriel.

“I knew that if something didn’t happen within the city, that this was going to happen again there,” Cosey said. “I wanted to make it my own personal mission that no other parent would have to feel that.”
