As the Pennsylvania election for governor nears, the race is starting to take shape for 2026.

Republican candidate and current Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity stopped in Erie Monday night to kick off her campaign.

Erie has always been a big political stop for campaigns, and this is no exception.

We saw Donald Trump and Kamala Harris stop last fall, and now a candidate for governor kicked off her campaign for governor here at the Brewerie.

While Garrity is currently Pennsylvania's state treasurer, she's now setting her sights on becoming governor.

Over the weekend, she received nearly unanimous endorsement from the PA GOP in an attempt to possibly bypass a primary.

Assuming Josh Shapiro runs in 2026, Garrity is slated to be his direct competition.
