PHOENIX — Forty-five shipping containers have been recycled into a new apartment complex near Papago Park in east Phoenix.
Tudo Capital recently announced the completion of Stacks on Polk, a 19-unit complex made from repurposed shipping containers and located near Van Buren Street and the Loop 202 freeway.
The container modules were fabricated at a facility in Mexico and then shipped to Phoenix—a manufacturing process that developers say helped reduce construction costs for the complex.
“Our mission is to reduce the cost of housing production,” Evan Glickman, founder of Tudo Capital, said in a statement. “By utilizing recycled materials, new code paths, and using lower cost labor in our Mexico facility, we are able to significantly cut project costs compared to site-built projects.
