Honolulu firefighters extinguished a two-alarm home fire in Kuliouou Valley over the weekend.
The 911 call to the Honolulu Fire Department came in at 3:33 p.m. Sunday for a fire at 403 Kuliouou Road. Eleven units with 43 personnel initially responded. The fire captain requested additional resources upon seeing the smoke column rising in the air en route to the scene.
Upon arrival at 3:38 p.m., the first unit found a medium-sized, single-story home with heavy smoke billowing from the front of the house. Firefighters used forcible entry tools to gain access to the home, and initiated an aggressive attack using handlines.
Firefighters brought the under control at 4:01 p.m., and extinguished the main body of the fire at 4:15 p.m.
