PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Construction on the westbound U.S. 150 War Memorial Drive ramps to and from Illinois Route 29 in Peoria begins Sept. 24.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the project involves building a temporary ramp to prepare for the rehabilitation of the westbound McClugage Bridge. The department expects the initial work to last a couple of days, while the larger project should last into early November.

Drivers should expect delays, allow for extra time on these roads, or take alternative routes.
