ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - COVID-19 vaccine recommendations will look different this fall. Instead of urging the shots for everyone, federal advisers say people should first consult with their doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

Last week, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted to end universal recommendations and instead move to what it calls “shared clinical decision-making.”

“There are some people who have been say we shouldn’t discuss this anymore, but there are a lot of people saying, well, then I’m not going to take this anymore,” said Dr. Kurt Milhoan, a member of the committee.

Until now, COVID-19 vaccines have been, recommended for everyone six months and older.
