JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A self-described “homebody” has come forward to claim half of a near-record $1.78 billion Powerball jackpot prize.

The Missouri winner owned one of two tickets to match all the numbers of the Sept. 6 drawing: 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62, with a Powerball of 17. He purchased his ticket at a QuikTrip in north St. Louis County at 12110 Lusher Road. The other winning ticket was sold in Fredericksburg, Texas, about 70 miles north of San Antonio.

The winner, who now holds the record for claiming the largest prize ever won by a Missouri Lottery player, said he's going to take time off and enjoy the experience.
