For example, only 36% of Hispanic and Latino Americans are receiving mental health care compared to 52% of non-Hispanic white Americans, according to a study by the Kaiser Family Foundation. Roger Rivera is a Hispanic practitioner serving Hispanic communities. He said education and awareness are invaluable in establishing long-term care.
"I'm deeply invested not only in the patient care, but in education for that very same reason, and outreach," said River. "That comes with creating a cultural responsiveness, so to speak."
